Málaga, Spain based Macco Motors, like many motorcycle builders have a style and its a style which Jose and Tito, its founders are clearly happy with. It’s also a style which is finding enthusiasts outside of Spain with this the Steadfast build as well as the Black Baron both being commissioned from clients in the UK.
The Steadfast like Macco’s previous builds, can find its roots in the Dusty Pearl, the bike which started their Triumph Twin style. Though each build can trace its lineage back to the Pearl, Jose and Tito insist that no two builds are the same, with each Triumph having small changes, but still keeping the popular ‘Dusty’ look.
It was Daniel who commissioned the Steadfast, sending his 2006 Triumph Bonneville T100 to Spain for a facelift. When the T100 arrived it had already been fitted with a large amount of aftermarket goodies, which Daniel had fitted in attempt to make his Triumph unique, but for him this simply wasn’t enough, It was now down to Jose and Tito at Macco to bring it all together.
After a chat about what Daniel and of course Jose and Tito wanted, it was agreed to go for the Dusty+ look which includes; shortened frame with loop, Macco’s trademark leather seat and glass-fiber front and rear mudguards, Bates bottom mounted headlight, mini indicators, generic vintage style rear light and of course blacking out anything that is chrome.
Next up was the all important Macco paint, it was decided to go darker, with a red double pinstripe on matt black and raw steel. To finish the tank off a modern Triumph logo was used instead of the retro classic style. Also Jose and Tito moved away from their trademark vented side-covers and opted for a new custom and industrial looking steel item, which shows-off rather than hides the rear brake master cycling assembley and air intake.
It isn’t just the look of the Triumph Twin that get the attention at Macco Motors, so does the handling and performance. Jose and Tito gave the suspension a much needed upgrade fitting Hagon progressive springs and Hagon Nitro’s shocks at the rear. The Norman Hyde exhaust which Daniel had fitted previously found the skip, being replaced by painted and black wrapped Supertrapp exhausts. Continuing the all inportant black theme are the wheels which have been coated and fitted with the Metzeler Tourance dual sport tyres (110/80/19 & 140/80/17)
Sitting on the bike and looking down the rider will notice the black Billtwell Tracker handlebars and grips, paired with OEM switches and Racing style clutch/brake levers, all offering a more comfortable ride. The popular XS650 style mini speedo with idiot lights adds the finishing touch.
